June 22nd is World Rainforest Day. Although they seem distant to us, we all benefit from their abundance and have a significant impact on their condition.
Rainforests absorb carbon dioxide and stabilize the climate. The Amazon alone is responsible for about 20% of the oxygen we breathe.
Where else can we find the goods of this faraway ecosystem? The answer may be surprising. In the refrigerator! Nearly 80% of our food base comes from the rainforest. Plants as popular as tomatoes, potatoes, rice, coffee or cocoa owe their origin to these, often tropical, regions of the globe.
Unfortunately, every year the cutting down of rainforests leads to the desertification of previously green areas. This, in turn, indirectly leads to natural disasters such as floods. Desolate areas lose their retention capacity, no longer produce food for us, not to mention clean the air and produce oxygen.

On the occasion of today’s holiday, we do not forget about our native forests and therefore, as an environmentally conscious company Fructoplant, we work together with contractors who, like us, value the condition of our planet.
The suppliers of our cardboard packaging and wooden stands are FSC and PEFC certified, which guarantees that the raw material used for production comes from legal and responsibly managed sources. FSC sets the standard for forest management. It pays special attention to maintaining harmony between social, ecological and economic aspects.

Each of us can contribute to the protection of the environment. All we have to do is to pay attention to the certified products coming from sustainable cultivation, which do not affect the cutting of valuable natural forest areas on Earth.
